For the October edition of Shelley Bailey’s Colorado Flight School, we’re heading to Colorado Springs to discover the story behind this Colorado winery founded by Ben and Lisa Nelson in 2017.
Ben, Latigo’s founder and winemaker, focuses on creating wines that express the character of Colorado terroir while preserving the integrity of each varietal. Lisa, founder and head taster, is passionate about building a brand rooted in community, nature, and connection.
Together, they’ve created a winery that reflects what makes Colorado wine so special.
From their first bottle in 2020 to opening their tasting room in Black Forest in 2024, Latigo has become part of Colorado’s growing wine story.
